Jamie and I have been wanting to make a map of the LDS temples around the world. For those of you who don't know what temples are, they are "sacred structures where [the Lord] can teach, bless, and guide" his church members. Here are a few pictures of local to us temples.
Columbus Ohio Temple
Louisville Kentucky Temple
Indianapolis Indiana Temple
Well, there's good news with this post. We finally finished the map! Here are some pictures of the map all done up and one of it on the wall in our home. Enjoy!
The last two aren't very good, but it was easier to see what we've done with the wall. And I forgot to take Blaine's Christmas stocking off of the shelf before I took the pics. We have it hanging above our marriage shelf with some of the keepsakes from our wedding. And on the wall next to it is our marriage license from the state of AL, our temple sealing certificate, and the picture of the temple Jamie hung in his locker during basic training. For those who don't know, Jamie and I were married/sealed in the Birmingham Alabama Temple. One of the best things about temples is that they provide a way for us to live with our families together throughout eternity. I whole-heartedly believe that God loves all of his children enough to provide a way for them to stay connected to their loved ones after we experience this life. I love that if I stay true to the promises I made in the temple that I can have my family close even after this life. It just makes sense to me, they bring me such joy and I know that I want that happiness to continue afterwards, too. At any rate, I'm not going to give you a whole lecture on it all.
